Happy 2020!

2019 was an epic year for riding. A HUGE thank you to Beta USA for hooking me up with a 2019 Beta 500 RR-S. Also huge thanks to IMS Products, Highway Dirt Bikes, and TUBliss for sending over items that just made the loaner more protected and more like my personal bikes.

I see how hard it is for dedicated moto journalist to test bikes. It's not cheap and they never really feel like your own bike.  You are also less likely to put the bike into a situation and this is probably why you don't see many people testing them out in the gnar where drops do happen. However I feel I did test it on real singletrack that I typically ride and thus took the chances to be able to show you all through my YouTube video what it can do. YouTube Playlist

In the coming months  I will be talking more about the Beta, what I liked and didn't like, what could and should be done when you buy one from the get go.

Overall it's a very nice bike with lots of power that is a lot lighter then my 2012 GasGas EC300 (they were pigs in 2012). I also got to say from the people I talk with what they love about their Beta's is the fact that Beta USA stands behind importing them and bends over backwards to make people happy.  If for some reason you are having issues with your dealer, call Beta up and talk with them.

I hope everyone has a fun 2020, and they get out there and ride more. See you all on the trails!

TrailTaker has implemented a way for you to share your GPX files whether you record them on your phone or with a GPS unit and view them online through a map and Satellite views. This feature is FREE.

Here is one of my Exploits: https://www.trailtaker.com/exploits/36

You can decide whether to share publicly or keep it private, totally up to you for those trails you don't want to share.

Viking Dirtman Enduro Saddlebags

Picked up these 'Viking Dirtman Enduro Sadlebags' from VikingBags.com and I got to say these are very nice for the price of $79.95.

First Impressions - Well made, with a rubber backing and rubber inner to help with resisting water penetration into the bags. The fitment was excellent on my 2001 Honda XR650R.

What you get - Each side has two pockets. The little pocket can hold a smartphone, wallet, keys, snakes, tire gauge, and other small items that you might want quick access too. The larger section of each bag can fit rain gear, extra shoes, tools, tubes, etc etc.

How do these compare to the big guys? - I would say they are equal to the quality and features and cost much much less. For those on a budget these are a no brain purchase and I highly recommend them. I'll update longevity int he future.
